Sister Cathedra by Jack Crumpler

Two marketers, Hoff and Larry, have figured out the ultimate promotional coup--elevate a second-rate tent evangelist and his delectable singer-daughter to super-stardom on television. They want to make a bundle for themselves in the process, but never reckon on James Bresnahan, a deluded zealot who has another mission. He believes he is called by God to assassinate leading TV evangelists he characterizes as "errant vermin." The singer-daughter, billed as Sister Cathedra, becomes a target for Bresnahan and a crippled, lonely erotic who convinces himself killing her is his only means of escape from his pitiful life.

Here's what others say about Sister Cathedra:

"SISTER CATHEDRA combines murder, suspense, and satire in a fast-action novel about religious promoters and televangelists. The story moves with the speed of a back country revival where they shout and speak in tongues. But Crumpler's tongue is pure, sassy hard-boiled English."

-James Ward Lee, Emeritus Professor and Former Chair of English, The University of North Texas

"I think you will like SISTER CATHEDRA with its authenticity and its sense of humor always running beneath the already bizarre world of TV evangelists."

-Billy Bob Hill, Browder Springs Press
